Mind/Body/Spirit

Welcome!

I am hoping this blog inspires a desire in you to be at your physical potential. Losing weight in 2013, and setting up a lifestyle that allows us to keep it that way! I want this blog to allow me to motivate and to be motivated!

Mind:

I love to make meals and desserts that please my family: I made Rice Krispie treats yesterday--- My kids and hubby loved it--- It had been a while since I had made them and I used to make them more often. Simply using your mind to follow a simple recipe is a great activity for the mind! The benefits are immediate and the enjoyment is shared ---- sweet!

Spirit:

We have three choices when facing a problem- flee from it, accept it, or change it.

Body:

I am going to have to report that the 3 day cycle has not gone as well this week as I had hoped; I did nothing mon., tues., and wed. I did step on thurs., walked on fri.,and walked on sat. Here is the thing about keeping a healthy lean body---- You never throw in the towell! I know that the 3 day cycle is an excellent way to get in shape, so then I shall start again this week! I have been wearing a pedometer also --which I highly recommend. 10,000 steps or you move more to get it in. It helps me! You should try it.

Spirit:

Reflecting on the benefits that the Lord extends to His children: (Beth Moore -Breaking Free)
1. To know God and believe God
2. To glorify God
3. To find satisfaction in God
4. To experience God's peace
5. To enjoy God's presence

Mind:

An old Eagles song is rattling around in my mind. Already Gone. The particular lyric - "so oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains and we never even know who has the key". I needed this recognition that we ourselves are the master of our ship. Our freedoms and our well-being! I am using my mind to post on this blog - therefore expressing thoughts is a good builder for the brain muscle! I suggest writing in any form -even keeping a journal is a productive activity for the mind.

Body:

I did do my spin class yesterday! It was a tough class. Spin really burns the calories! After the cycling the class goes over to another section of the gym to work on abs. The instructor said that they had traveled in thier car doing the night and they were wiped out. A few minutes into the ab routine the instructor quits and says "I can't do it". One of the ladies in the class said "well then I can't either" which made us all laugh. Everybody quit and laid there laughing. The way she said it was so funny. Working out adds so much to your life when a social aspect is added!

Body:

The first thing I am attempting to do with fidelity is run through work-outs on a three day cycle. Alternating between step aerobics, spin class, and jogging. Yesterday was Step, today was spin. I am feeling positive about this plan. I would like to note in future posts when I am successful at completing my work-outs.

Writing a New Ending

This blog represents a new chance to share my thoughts, opinions, and viewpoints on living a healthy productive life.
I am a mother of two wonderful teenaged boys and the wife of Michael Potter (also an educator) for the past 18 years. I am 40 years old and reasonably physically fit (a little overweight), and I am striving to reach my potential in this lifetime.
